* Skippool Creek – Boat Graveyard

An early Sunday morning wander around Skippool Creek’s boat graveyard. One of the most unusual places I’ve found. The place was deserted which gave us the chance to explore at leisure. Some of the jetty’s were very creaky to say the least but we managed to get along quite a few of them. To be honest, most of the place is a complete death trap!

There are some more wrecks that lie further along towards Fleetwood, and I’ve put them in a separate page on here 🙂

Here’s an interesting page outlining some of it’s history – tales of smugglers and press gangs!!!

UPDATE:

I did a revisit today and found 2 more wrecks that I’d previously missed… one’s just a skeleton in the mud and the other has obviously been fire damaged… the fire damaged wreck is actually quite big, I would say possibly trawler size?
